Welcome to the Poundmaker Cree Nation website. This website provides our viewers with information about the various services Poundmaker Cree Nation offers. 

The Poundmaker Cree Nation is a First Nation reserve, located near Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. It is a Treaty 6 Nation, started by the famous Cree Chief Pitikwahanapiwiyin in 1876. The band has a growing amount of 1281 members, with 505 living on the reserve.  Its location is Northwest of North Battleford and Saskatoon.  The Famous actor Gordon Tootoosis was born on the Poundmaker Cree Nation

The North American Indigenous Games will be held in Toronto July 16-23, 2017. Trails for track and field will be held in Prince Albert, September 24 and 25, 2016 and for Cross-Country will be October 1, 2016 in Muskoday which is approximately 20kms southeast of Prince Albert on Highway 3. Entry info and schedules are on the entry form.

EFFECTIVE MAY 2, 2016:  We recently updated our system to issue collection letters automatically to our customers. The following is to notify you of the changes that will impact our customers:

The Final Notice will be sent to the current mailing adress we have for the customer in billing. We will no longer be faxing the BAND (Income Assistance or Accounts Payable/ Finance Departments) to advise when a final notice has been issused on any account.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY 

OF THE CLIENT TO BRING

IN THEIR BILLS & NOTIFY 

THE BAND IF THEY 

RECIEVE NOTICES 

REGARDING OVERDUE 

AMOUNTS.

Re: Dec. 17th Child Applications for Registration as an Indian

Greetings! If you are the parent(s) of a child that you wanted to register on December 17, 2015 on Distribution Day at the Band Hall, you will need the following additional required information.  Your child application will not be accepted by Indian (Aboriginal) Aause they require an Original Birth Certificate (Long Form) to be attached with your child's application.  Once you have this information (Original Birth Certificate), come and see me at the Band Office and i will forward your application to Aboriginal Affairs Canada in Regina.ffairs bec  Thank you!

*COMMUNITY COMPLAINT PROCESS*

 

 

Copies of an unsigned/undated complaint letter was produced against certain staff members. Through discussion, it was decided a grievance procedure is needed. Suggested Grievance Procedure:

  • In the case of grievance, and "Incident Report" is filed. This triggers the process. The Incident Report is signed and dated then forwarded to Human Resoureces. Based on the information of the Incident Report,the HR will investigate the complaint.
  • The named staff member(s) on the Incident Report shall be interviewed to get her/his/their side of the complaint
  • Once all the information is gathered the HR will decide whether the complaint is groundless or substantiated.
  • If the Incident Report findings prove groundless; then Human Resoureces will meet the Community member to discuss the findings and decision.
  • If the Incident Report findings are substantiated, then the HR will meet with the staff member and the PCN Personnel Manual Progressive Discipline 

 


 ANNUAL TREATY PAYMENTS IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

You must have ONE of the following forms of VALID  Identification to recieve your treaty payment at ANY treaty event throughout Saskatchewan.

Acceptable forms of identification:

  • A valid Certificate of Indian Status Card Secure Certificate of Indian Status Card
  • A valid Passport
  • A Valid  Photo Drivers license
  • A valid Provincial Health Services Card
  • A Current  Photo Identification From a Recognized Employer or Governtment Agency

 

  • Parent`s MUST show a VALID Saskatchewan Health Services Card for each child in order to recieve payment for that child or children.
  • if your Certificate of Indian Status Card has expired, you can contact your Indian Registry Administrator to obtain a new card.

PROPER IDENTIFICATION ENSURES YOU RECIEVE PAYMENT

IDENTIFICATION CAN BE PAID FROM INCOME ASSISTANCE (IE. BIRTH CERTIFICATE)
